The Echoes of the Sirens
2023

“Throughout their muted history, they have lived in dreams, silenced bodies, silences, silent rebellions.”
 -Hélène Cixous-

Echoes of the Sirens is a performance that ponders the place of the feminine in the world. It is a landscape and terrain of strange bodies echoing femininity, centered on making space for the feminine through choral sound, sensitive embodiment and environmental perception.
The performance takes place outside with the bushes, rocks, trees and the sea, following the feminine wisdom of these elements. The work questions the social, cultural, and corporeal place that the patriarchal structure has created for the feminine. Listening to the echoes of often silenced feminine histories, the working group wants to imagine possible feminine futures, as a kind of utopia of unregulated femininity.
